To expect to be able to bring them in to the crucible and for them to perform well is setting an unfair expectation. These guns are all designed with PvE in mind and that is where they excel. Wavesplitter is a hybrid that works well when killing red bars, and then gets a boost of damage for tougher enemies and a reload when picking up an orb of power (which you don't see much in PVP). Ruinous Effigy controls the battlefield with its orbs. Prometheus Lens is a red bar slayer that refills ammo on kills. They were not designed with PVP in mind, and they are not common in PVP for a reason. Then why would you use them when there are so many better options?
